Restaurant Code of Conduct

At Leisure Dock, we aim to create a trusted environment where restaurants are represented fairly and diners can discover with confidence. This Code of Conduct outlines the standards we expect from restaurants listed on our platform.

By maintaining a listing on Leisure Dock, restaurants agree to uphold these principles.

1. Honest Representation

Restaurants must present themselves accurately and truthfully.

This means:

  • Menus, pricing, and opening hours should be kept up to date
  • Photos should accurately reflect current offerings and atmosphere
  • Descriptions should be honest and not misleading

Clear information builds diner trust, and trust benefits everyone.

2. Respect for Diners

Restaurants are expected to:

  • Treat diners fairly and professionally
  • Honour publicly displayed pricing and promotions where applicable
  • Handle customer concerns reasonably and respectfully

Leisure Dock supports positive dining experiences, but responsibility for service remains with the restaurant.

3. Fair Use of the Platform

Restaurants may not:

  • Post false or exaggerated claims
  • Misrepresent another business
  • Attempt to manipulate search visibility or reviews
  • Use multiple listings to game the system

Listings exist to inform, not to mislead.

4. Reviews & Ratings Integrity

Restaurants must not:

  • Offer incentives in exchange for reviews
  • Pressure diners to leave or remove reviews
  • Post reviews about their own business
  • Attack or harass reviewers

Constructive feedback, both positive and negative, is part of a healthy dining ecosystem.

5. Professional Conduct Online

When engaging publicly on Leisure Dock:

  • Responses to reviews should remain professional and courteous
  • Harassment, defensiveness, or hostile language is not acceptable
  • Disagreements should be handled calmly and constructively

How restaurants respond speaks volumes to future diners.

6. Legal & Ethical Compliance

Restaurants must operate in accordance with:

  • Local food safety regulations
  • Advertising standards
  • Applicable business laws
  • Leisure Dock does not replace regulatory authorities.

7. Enforcement

Failure to follow this Code may result in:

  • Requests for correction
  • Temporary listing suspension
  • Permanent listing removal in serious or repeated cases

Our goal is fairness, not punishment.

8. Shared Responsibility

Leisure Dock is built on mutual respect between diners and restaurants. This Code exists to maintain a platform where great food, honest information, and thoughtful discovery come first.
