In 1961, Pete Vann purchased the Missoula appliance store where he had started working as stock boy 11 years earlier and opened the first Vanns with three employees, including himself. Since then, Vanns has grown into Montanas largest independent retailer of home appliances and consumer electronics. Employee-owned since 1996, Vanns now has 143 employees and retail locations in Kalispell, Hamilton, Bozeman, Helena and Billings.
