Established in 2008. Authentic Guadalajaran food – our signature dish is the torta ahogada, served on crispy sourdough bread stuffed with carnitas and beans, then dipped in a savory tomato salsa and topped with our secret recipe crazy hot salsa to your taste. We have 17 other sandwiches on our menu including the new Cajun-style Po Boy with crispy fish or shrimp and a spicy remoulade. If youre in the mood for seafood, try our Hawaiian shrimp with bacon, pineapple and a chipotle cream. We also have fresh-squeezed juices and a variety of aguas frescas (fruit-infused water). Mario Perez opened Tortuga Bay in 2008 to bring the food from his home town, Guadalajara, Mexico to Los Angeles. While the signature dish is the Torta Ahogada, there are many specialty items that are typical of Guadalajara. There are also many healthy options on the menu, including fresh salads and juices.
