The Oasis Cafe is owned by Jim & Melissa Palermo, the previous owners of the Broken Egg and The Serving Spoon! Jim & Melissa create daily fresh specials for breakfast and lunch. How The Oasis Cafe started in Sarasota… 31 years ago, we, Jim and Melissa Palermo started The Broken Egg on Siesta Key at the original Avenida Messina site it was small but a true Sarasota gem. We moved down the street to a larger store and we did some fantastic school lunches at The Out of Door Academy on Siesta Key as well where their kids went to school. Then there was The Serving Spoon on Osprey Ave and that only flourished. Our Palermo family was also expanding. We had Edward and then Jim got the itch again and they decided to go to Vermont for 9 long cold years. A great number of locals and visitors followed us from the original Egg to the Spoon, and now to The Oasis Cafe. And they did this for a good reason:)
