John Rivers diverse career experience spans two decades and ranges from managing a billion-dollar pharmaceutical distribution operation to opening one of the fastest-growing new restaurants in the southeast with his Texas-inspired 4Rivers Smokehouses in Winter Park, Winter Garden, Longwood, East Orlando, Jacksonville and Gainesville, Florida. Always evolving, John Rivers hatched a new concept, THE COOP , a southern-inspired, fast-casual concept located at 610 West Morse Boulevard in Winter Park, Florida in April 2014. Rivers is a graduate of the Florida State University College of Business. He serves on the boards of numerous school and community-based charitable organizations and resides in Winter Park, Fla., with his wife Monica and two children, Jared and Cameron. Brought to you by the team behind 4 Rivers Smokehouse , The COOP is a Winter Park neighborhood restaurant celebrating the home-style fare of the South. Serving up hospitality at every table, Chef/Owner John Rivers offers comfort food classics made from scratch daily. Passed-down recipes and seasonal ingredients come together in the form of iconic dishes from Southern Fried Chicken, Low Country Shrimp & Grits to Mississippi Mud and Lemon Icebox pies. We are usually ready to serve those who come a little early, and we never have a hard closing time.
