The Bakehouse

The Bakehouse is a sixth generation bakery with Austrian and Spanish roots. Founded in Austria by Josef Brunner in 1948, passed down generations and rooted in North Carolina in 1991 by Kurt and Linda Brunner. Family owned and operated by their son, Martin Brunner,(fifth generation baker), his wife Mireia who takes care of customers (AKA – the Boss) and Dolores, Mireias Mom, who is responsible for the famous Barcelona Burger. Our sixth generation, the most recent addition to our team, is daughter Teresa who has taken over the Pastry Department and is now creating the most amazing Wedding cakes adorned with her handmade sugar flowers! It will be our pleasure to serve you a sweet treat, a savory loaf of artisan bread, or a delicious, satisfying lunch!
