Tastemakers

Established in 2018. Tastemakers is a food hall and shared kitchen. Over 30 businesses operate out of our facility, making everything from bagels to tamales. In the food hall, established businesses and chefs offer favorites and experiments to DCs taste testers. Our teaching kitchen hosts weekly cooking classes and special events! Kirk & Juliann (owners of Captain Cookie) needed a new kitchen to make cookies. Along they way, they met dozens of other food startups who were looking for a local kitchen but couldnt afford to build their own. After a two-year search for the right space, they decided to take a risk and build something bigger than Captain Cookie. The Brookland neighborhood was the perfect place to put in a new kind of facility – food hall & market in front, incubator kitchen in the back!
