Even more than that, its rewarding to share great rums and rum drinks with friends and neighbors, and overcome some of the stigma that often burdens the spirit Isnt rum sweet? Not necessarily. Theres a misconception that because rum is produced from sugarcane, it is sweeter than other spirits - but like other spirits, no sugar makes it through the still when rum is produced. Most of the rums we serve are completely dry, and a few of them contain a small amount of sugar added after distillation - a process variously known as dosage or back-sweetening. We dont carry any rums sweeter than barely off-dry - to borrow a wine term. Arent tiki drinks really sweet? Just like rum itself can carry a stigma, cocktails made with it are often viewed warily, especially since the syrupy boat drinks of the 1970s havent quite died away yet. The fact is, rum has a long history of being mixed in beautiful and balanced ways - from the elegant simplicity of a Cuban daiquiri, to the multi-rum mixtures of don the beachcomber - the founder of tiki. Our goal is to make balanced cocktails with great spirits & fresh juices. We hope you enjoy them as much as we do! Do you have anything other than rum? Yes!
