Speedy Tacos

Speedy Tacos was established in 1993 by my sister Cruz Verastiqui in Kyle, TX. We specialized in home made tortillas and became very popular for our breakfast tacos. Our old fashioned hamburgers and hand breaded chicken fried steak also were top choices for Kyle. My dad and I, Gregorio Gonzales, would deliver three to four hundred tacos to the industrial companies in Kyle and Buda daily. In 1997 my sister Cruz became very ill and we were forced to close Speedy Tacos to provide her care. In 1999, I met my wife Ida Torres, while retired. In 2004 I was very blessed and we decided to reopen our old business and we renamed it Speedy Tacos and More in Austin, TX. We first opened Speedy Tacos and More as a kitchen on wheels at the old Sams warehouse parking lot which is now the Crockett center. Our business quickly grew so fast that we had to relocate to a traditional site so we opened on N. Lamar. Good things and blessing quickly followed us and we again needed a bigger location, so in 2005 we relocated to our current home in Round Rock, TX at 2000 N. Mays Street suite 300.Read more
