Spahr's Downtown

Spahrs Seafood Restaurant was founded in 1968 on the outskirts of New Orleans in the small fishing community of Des Allemands. The surrounding bayous provided the seafood that founder Bill Spahr used to develop Spahrs Seafood Restaurant into an icon in southern Louisiana. Still locally owned and operated by family and friends, Spahrs Seafood Restaurant strives to use the freshest local seafood and serve our guests with genuine southern hospitality. Over the years, Spahrs Seafood Restaurant became known for three signature items: The Original Catfish Chips, World Famous Bloody Marys, and Seafood Gumbo. Tragically, the original restaurant in Des Allemands was lost to a kitchen fire in November of 2002. In 2003, Spahrs Downtown was opened in Thibodaux. This location has had great success and has provided the cornerstone for the continual growth and rebirth of the Spahrs brand. Expanding its menu to include breakfast has locals gathering daily to the downtown hotspot. In 2006, Spahrs Seafood rebuilt in Des Allemands on the exact slab where the original restaurant burned. Complete with scenic views of Bayou Des Allemands and its original recipes, the location remains as popular as ever. The restaurant is regularly reviewed as a must stop. In 2016, Spahrs at the Station was opened in Galliano to serve the communities of lower Lafourche. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, this location continues the companies values with a commitment to culinary excellence and delivering hospitality at its highest level. Serving fresh, Louisiana, wild caught seafood in authentic Cajun and creole recipes for 3 generations. These restaurants continue to serve its local communities and have become a destination for travelers and tourists.
