Located in Metairie, LA, Shyans Kitchen is a Pakistani-Indian restaurant, owned and operated by Irfan Khan. Irfan Khan had emigrated to New Orleans in 2007 from Kashmir and used to run a small Pakistani restaurant named Salt N Pepper on Iberville Street. He feltthe tourist-packed French Quarter wasnt the right place for such a restaurant and sold it last fall knowing that he would eventually open another restaurant. Khan later on quietly opened his new restaurant, Shyans Kitchen at 3320 Houma Blvd. in Metairie a few months ago inside the former Tonis Restaurant and Bar. This brand new restaurant serves classic Indian and Pakistani food and feels more personal than his previous restaurant according to Khan. His vision was a family-style restaurant for families in the area, which he realized with Shyans Kitchen.
