Established in 2006. We offer pulled pork, chicken, boneless pork chops, brisket & the best & biggest baby back ribs in town. Were the home of the Turkey Rib. Its a delicious, bone-in piece of all white meat, topped w/our original rub, lightly smoked & served with our White Lightnin sauce. All side dishes & desserts are made from scratch & we have 5 homemade sauces to choose from. We are open 11-8 Mon through Thurs,11-9 Fri & Sat & Closed on Sunday. Dine in our original log home, carry out or call in your order to pick up at our drive-thru window. You can sit in our covered patio area & enjoy our live music all summer long! We are also a full service caterer for all occasions from 5 people to 5000! Anything from Corporate Cookouts to Backyard BBQs, No event too large or small, we cater them all! We can even smoke a whole hog up to 250 lbs. Owners Mike and Barbara Sivells met in September of 1989. Barbara and Mike always shared visions and goals of one day being their own boss. Mike would take Barbara on Sunday drives and describe what he foresaw as a family oriented restaurant. In the meantime, Mike and Barbara would co-found many businesses together over the years, never giving up their dream of one day opening their very own barbecue restaurant. In 2006 that perfect opportunity presented itself in the form of an original log cabin built in 1896 and located, in their now hometown, of Fairdale Kentucky. The log cabin was formerly a flower shop. They knew this was the perfect time and location to make their dreams to come true. The Shack in the Back BBQ opened its doors in September of 2006.
