Pastis

The revival of Pastis was driven by two James Beard Award-winning restaurateurs, Keith McNally and Stephen Starr, who return to a neighborhood they helped cultivate. McNally is the chief designer of the space while Starr and team focus on culinary and operations. Pastis features elements similar to the original such as the restaurants classic curved zinc bar outfitted with signature subway tiles, vintage mirrors with handwritten daily specials, and a mosaic-tiled floor. Guests can expect to find the classic bistro fare Pastis is known for, with a menu that offers breakfast, weekend brunch, lunch and dinner. Keith McNally was born in London and moved to New York in 1975, where he worked in a series of restaurant jobs from oyster shucker to busboy to general layabout. In 1980 he opened his first restaurant, The Odeon. Since then hes opened Café Luxembourg, Nells, Lucky Strike, Pravda, Balthazar, Pastis, Schillers, Morandi, Minetta Tavern, Pulinos, Cherche Midi and Augustine, as well as Balthazar in London. Hes written and directed two feature films, End of the Night and Far From Berlin. In 2010 he was mistakenly given the James Beard award for outstanding U.S. Restaurateur.
