Parnells started when Denny and Sue Hughes bought a tavern called at that time Poor Mels back in 1974 and named it Parnells Place. In 1989, son Tim Hughes and his wife Cory purchased the tavern, adding a kitchen, expanding the dining room and focusing on creatinga food destination that featured great tasting Midwestern favorites. Parnells celebrated their 40th anniversary on July 1st 2014 a major accomplishment in the restaurant business. Parnells serves seven days a week from 11am to 10pm, with Happy hour 3:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M Monday through Thursday featuring buy one get one all night. Other specials include: all you can eat broased chicken, shrimp and cod on Tuesdays; Friday fish nights with all you can eat hand battered haddock and breaded fish such as perch and walleye; and Chefs choice prime rib steaks or skillet served on a bed of onions, green peppers and mushrooms in a burgundy wine sauce on Saturdays. Choice cut tenderloin and ribeye are savory and cooked to your liking. Sundays feature Parnells famous broasted chicken at a reduced price.
