Parkway Cafe was established in 1993. It was the first restaurant on North Dirksen Parkway in a totally industrial area, surrounded by cornfields. Since then the area has grown to include a Super Walmart, Lowes, Menards, Big R, and 18 other restaurants. Parkway Cafe has become a local favorite, as well as a favorite for travelers up and down I-55 between Chicago, IL and St. Louis, MO; many of which are stopping by to see the newest addition to the city, The Abraham Presidential Library & Museum. Leann, the owner of Parkway Cafe, had devoted years as a waitress at Tops Big Boy, when she saw an opportunity to open her own restaurant. Her goal was, and still is, to create a family friendly eviroment where customers receive the excellent service they deserve. Parkway Cafe strives to bring great food, at a reasonable price. At Parkway, we make the customers feel like regulars the first time they walk through the door.
