Established in 1987. Nobus specializes in fresh sashimi, and certain fish are flown in directly from Japan, such as Amber Jack (Kanpachi), Horse Mackaral (Aji), Japanese Red Snapper (Tai), and Traveler (Shimaaji). We never use frozen fillets! We prepare our sushionly from live fish and clams delivered by a Chicago supplier 3-4 times a week. If we dont receive live fish, we wont serve it in our restaurant. Mr. and Mrs. Kidera opened Nobus Japanese Restaurant in St. Louis on Delmar in 1987 and moved to their current location in 1991. Since then, Nobus has won the Peoples Choice Award for Best Sushi by RFT for more than 10 times (1991-2001, 2007, 2010), been voted Citysearchs Best Sushi and Japanese restaurant in 2000 and awarded Sauce Magazine Readers Choice Favorite Japanese/Sushi in 2012.
