Located at Sparkman Wharf, Murphs Barbecue is a SaltBlock Hospitality concept inspired by great American barbecue, our hospitality roots, and one legendary pup named Murphy. We are a mixed-breed (just like he was) where Texas-style brisket meets traditional South Carolina whole hog barbecue meets Kansas City-inspired rotisserie chicken. SaltBlock Hospitality was built on beef brisket and a backyard smoker. Founded in 2015 by best friends, Ryan Conigliaro and Scott Roberts, the two spent the majority of their first year in business smoking thick, fat-capped hunks of beef brisket through the night in the backyard of a Seminole Heights bungalow. It was fine fare without the frills. Murphs commemorates our early days, those late nights, and a dog that was there to see us through it.
