Montclair EATS was created by Frank Louvis of Coastal Technologies / WebsFirst, a Montclair-based software and web development company. Franks grandfather opened a luncheonette, home-made candy and ice cream store on Valley Road back in 1923. That family business(which became known as Louviss to generations of Montclair residents) was sold in 1989 and is now home to the Montclair Char-Broil Restaurant. Under Franks ownership, Coastal Technologies has developed web sites and applications for many area businesses and organizations including sites for all of Montclairs Public School PTAs, the 973Shop.com local shopping portal, Wild West City, and many others.
