Levon Der Bedrossian, David Wright and Ellen Sinaiko opened La Méditeranée Noe in 1981, following the success of La Méditeranée on Fillmore street, which opened in 1979. Situated in the Heart of the Castro, the three partners opened Noe with the goal of serving good food in a pleasant environment, with warm and friendly service. Now celebrating more than 35 years in the Bay area, La Méditeranée continues to meet that commitment and we are proud to be part of the San Francisco community. Our Mid-East and Mediterranean cuisine is inspired by Levons Armenian and Lebanese family recipes. Each dish is made from scratch daily, using only the finest spices and freshest ingredients. Chef Michael Levy joined the team at Noe in 2007, the same year Levons son, Vanick, joined the team as executive chef at Fillmore. With Levons guidance, together with long time general manager, Alicia Vanden Heuvel, (who has been with La Méditerranée since 1997), and Jennifer Fleet, (who has been with Noe since 2000), our management team strives to uphold our motto, the smallest things make the biggest differences! Consistently voted Best Middle Eastern and Best Mediterranean in the Guardian and SF Weekly, locals and visitors alike find our budget-friendly café a place they can return to time and again for the comfort of a warm, delicious meal and a bright and friendly smile!
