The district appraises property according to the Texas Property Tax Code and the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practices (USPAP). Mission Statement: Our mission is to provide accurate property assessments to facilitate the local funding for our county, schools, cities, and other districts that derive budgets and other operating expenses from local property values. DONT PAY A FEE TO FILE YOUR HOMESTEAD APPLICATION : The Henderson County Appraisal District does not charge a fee to file a Residential Homestead Application. If you receive a letter in the mail requesting a fee to file your homestead application, please contact the Henderson County Appraisal District directly to file your application at no cost.
