Gusto Osteria was born out of the concept that authentic hearty Italian meals with excellent wines should be enjoyed at affordable prices! We find pride in friendly personable servers who remember your name. The restaurant is tucked away in the Colonia Verde PlazaShopping Center at the corner of Tanque Verde and Sabino Canyon. Gusto offers the Italian classics as well as innovative and delicious vegetarian choices! Gusto features a large remodeled dining room, bar and kitchen. However, the large suite also offers a cozy atmosphere with incredible one-of-a kind original artwork and a fantastic-nearly 1000 square foot-outdoor patio. The owner/operator-Glenn Gus Gerson has been in the restaurant business for over 20 years. Hailing originally from Ohio; Gus came to Tucson after service in the Navy and began with Bobby Mcgees in his college days. Gus then worked with Joey at his restaurant, Scordatos On Broadway, and then continued with the Olson Family when it was operated as Olsons on Broadway. Later, when Gus went into the advertising business he always kept connections to the restaurant world. Gus again worked with Joe at his latest northwest venture-Giuseppes (Oracle and Rudasill) and began developing a passion to bring a similar home style Italian concept to Tucsons East Side.
