We are proud to introduce our chefs, Sarah Heard and Nathan Lemley, whose passion for great food began early in their childhood. Like many of us, they were fascinated by watching their moms and grandmas cooking traditional homestyle food every day, and just knew that this would be their future. Sarah and Nathan first met while working at local Chef Shawn Cirkiels super-popular restaurant, Parkside, in downtown Austin. There, both chefs honed their skills & prepared for the next step, ownership. Fast forward a few years, when Sarah and Nathan knew it was the right time to open their own restaurant. A place where they could create their own version of bold and creative Texas food, all delivered from farm to table in as short a timeframe as possible. The dream became a reality in 2017, when the duo took over Foreign & Domestic. Since then, they have been serving cohesive dishes with bold Texas flavors & ingredients. Their approach to food has made F&D a great crowd-pleaser, with many customers being happy to return time and again to this restaurant in downtown Austin. We have a strong ethos of supplying our customers with the freshest, organic produce possible, and we know that our restaurant wouldnt be the same today without the superb ingredients from our friendly partner farms.
