Starting as a deli counter in 1999 Ya Hala has grown by word-of-mouth and by the praises of the passionate community of food lovers in our beloved city of Portland. We expanded not once but twice since then to accommodate our new customers who have become regularsand part of our family. The dishes we offer are not typical entrees found in a Lebanese restaurant but are more traditionally from the kitchen of a Lebanese familys home and also include classic street fare and special baked delicacies. To accompany our homestyle dishes we offer a unique selection of traditional Lebanese beverages including Lebanese sodas, lemonade with orange blossom water, yogurt drinks. We also have an extensive wine and beer selection from Lebanon to Portland. Of course, we offer all the usual beverages to suit everyones tastes. Our chef and the heart of Ya Hala is Mirna Attar. Chef Attar painstakingly created the entire menu, pouring over the details from generations of knowledge passed down to her by her in her familys kitchen. Every day she proudly recreates the phenomenal dishes her and her family love. I wish for everyone that comes to Ya Hala to enjoy the authentic cuisine of my ancestry at its finest.
