Deep Vellum

Deep Vellum is a nonprofit independent publishing house and literary arts center founded in 2013 with the mission to bring the world into conversation through literature. We are dedicated to publishing socially engaged literature that fosters cross-cultural dialogue, breaks down barriers between communities, and promotes empathy. Since our inception, we have nurtured a list of books representing the best, most diverse voices in international literature, from fiction to poetry to nonfiction to photography and kids books. We strive for gender parity and diversity in the literary artists we publish. The Deep Vellum back catalog currently represents authors from 90+ countries, written originally in 60+ languages. In addition, Deep Vellum celebrates our recent acquisition of Dalkey Archive Press, a list of over 1,000 titles representing the world in literature, including Nobel Prizewinners, translations, fiction/nonfiction, and beyond, which are now integrated into Deep Vellums catalog.
