Tom Midrano and Howie Schechter started Chez José Mexican Cafe on SW Terwilliger in 1987. Arisen from the ashes a year after it burned down in 2001, Chez José is sans bar but offers a wide selection of margaritas and full-bar drinks, as well as beer and wine. Its colorful, welcoming décor, excellent fare and dedicated staff keep long-time customers coming back.
