In 1961 Eddie Peck bought a small neighborhood tavern in North Minneapolis called the Broadway Bar. Located at the corner of Third and Broadway, it was a local favorite for pizza, beer, and conversation. Determined to continue Broadways heritage, Eddie began his business by calling up the best help he knew: his family. His mother, Mamie, headed up the pizza making. The sauce was made fresh every day and sausage was made from scratch. The meat was trimmed, cut and ground by Eddie himself. And, unless the vegetables were crisp and fresh, they werent good enough for Mamie. She even pounded and kneaded the dough for each and every pizza herself. Mamie was helped out by Eddies wife Dorothy, his sister Marion, and his cousin Don, who tended bar and made pizzas. Word got out that Eddie and his family were making the pizza in town. People still stand in line for one of Eddies famous pizzas. He is gone now, but his tradition is being carried on at the Robbinsdale location by Eddies niece Kari, his nephew Brad, and their father, Ron. We still use his original recipe with only the freshest and finest ingredients. We hope you enjoy your visit and invite you to stop in anytime!
