Brit's Pub

Brits Pub in downtown Minneapolis first opened its doors way back in 1990. Since then it has grown from a small two-room tavern into the much larger institution it is now. Additions over the years included the Long Room in 1994 and the world-renowned English Garden Park, complete with its 10,000 square foot Lawn Bowling green, in 1998. In 2006 Brits continued to expand with the opening of two new spaces; The Veranda Bar – an outdoor rooftop bar overlooking the English Garden Park, and The Clubhouse – a comfy cocktail and party lounge with views over Nicollet Mall and Peavy Plaza After defeating the Kaiser in 1918, Freddie jumped ship and made his way to Hollywood. He immediately became part of the in-crowd and was known as the limey equivalent of Rudolph Valentino. During this time Freddie developed many of his catchphrases that many of you will remember (Was it something I said?) however, as all his roles back then were in silent movies they never really did catch on. After playing a huge part in Hitlers downfall Fred found himself back in the limelight; often rubbing shoulders with Frank, Dean and Sammy although Freddies gang of Brit entertainers, also known as the Crap Pack, never really hit the same heights as Sinatras crew. During the Swinging Sixties Freds musical career continued to soar often being referred to as the 5th Beatle and the 6th Rolling Stone and for a time was a member of Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick, Tich and Fred. However, a rather unsavoury moment involving Freddie, the Queen and a band of banjo-playing dwarfs at the 1972 Royal Variety performance led to Fred disappearing into the entertainment wilderness and being stripped of his recently awarded knighthood. A surprise invite to star as James Bonds grandfather in the movie, The names Bond, Basildon Bond brought Freddie back into the public eye and a guest spot as Peter Faulks great uncle in Columbo cemented his comeback.
