They shared a passion for great coffee and discovered that there was a real problem with making slow coffee. It always gets cold before you can finish brewing it. We developed a concept of caring for each step in the coffee making process and found that there were no complete end to end slow pour-over solutions. We worked with many models until we discovered what seemed to be the most functional and most elegant solution to keeping your coffee hot while you make it and even AFTER you make it, because after all, who knows, we might want to drink more than one cup. The initial goal of making hot coffee simply expanded once we adopted the care for each step concept and found that a key element was missing in the filtration process, namely the ability to paper filters without the paper sticking to the glass which significantly slows down the percolation process. This is how we discovered the need for a paper filter basket which effectively solves two problems; speeding up the flow by lifting the paperoff the glass and allows for the paper filter to be easily and effortlessly removed from the glass and placed in a convenient holder that catches whats left of the coffee in the filter. Finally the goal was to be able to sit and enjoy the coffee at above 140 degrees for at least 1 hr. Our double-wall insulated glass carafe combined with the cork lid allows this to happen. We have found that our Bolio slow coffee decanter can hold the coffee at above 140 degrees for nearly 75 min. Two Guys in Boulder
