From its humble beginnings as a mere idea in 2014, Hip Cookeville has progressed into a thriving, constructive, uplifting Facebook Group whose members help their neighbors by sharing first-hand knowledge about everyday things local products, services, employment opportunities, and recreational activities in Cookeville and the Upper Cumberland area. Hip C provides a space for locally owned businesses to promote their services and products, as well as an outlet for the daily sharing of the areas vast array of local arts and entertainment offerings. What began as a simple idea is now thousands of individuals enhancing the lives of their neighbors every day. One member recently said, Who needs Google when you have Hip Cookeville? THIS is the exact purpose for which the Hip Cookeville Corporation was born. Who knows the community better than those who live and work within it each and every day? Hip Cookeville Corporation is a Public Benefit Corporation, led by a Board of Directors whose mission is to enhance the quality of experiences for the people who live, work, and play in Putnam County and its surrounding communities. Think of it as the front porch of Cookeville the place where neighbors come together to share a glass of iced tea and support one anothers needs with ideas, knowledge, services, and personal experience. Our efforts are built for you by you, its members (and our community) as needed, to enhance visibility and impact of the businesses, organizations, artists, musicians, and public servants who make up the Upper Cumberland area the place we call home. We want to ensure that as many of our neighbors as possible are in the know about all of the wonderful things our little corner of this world has to offer to its citizens and visitors, alike.
