Bharat Bhavan

The above reflects that Bharat Bhavan Foundation has been very active during the year 2002-2003. For all these activities, I wish to express Bharat Bhavans gratitude particularly to the Federal Government, The Quebec Ministry of Immigration and Relations with Cultural Communities, Ville de Montreal, RBC Financial group, Individual community member donors, Members of other important communities for giving us financial support. Financially, the year 2002-2003 was very challenging for us. The rental income went down because we stopped renting to some groups who were doing more damage to the property than the cost of rental. However, with the help of certain kind hearted donors we were able to sail through the difficult times. As all of you are quite aware of that the Foundation is being operated primarily by volunteers and funded with financial donations by individuals and business people. The Foundation is providing free services to the underprivileged and the needy people of the community. We have come a long way and would like to maintain and even to expand these free services specially in areas like Parc Extension where they are needed most and where approx.45% population is of south Asian Origin. We believe it is our moral responsibility to help the underprivileged and needy people of the community. Therefore, I urge all of you to please continue providing the Foundation with financial, moral and volunteer help so that we can maintain and improve our services. Finally, I wish to express my deep appreciation to all the members of our Executive Committee and of the Board of Directors for their dedicated and unconditional support.
