Prestige Oysters is a private and family run business. CEO Johnny Halili migrated from Albania to the U.S in the 1970s. Landing in the projects of Chicago, Johnny got his first job at a local car wash. After moving from job to job, Johnny made his way down to Louisiana after hearing of work from his cousin. Having never been on a boat, Johnny begun working as a deckhand. After many hard years of working deckhand, Johnny Halili bought his first boat – Lady Katherine. Johnnys best deckhand was his wife Lisa Halili, together they weathered many cold winters oyster fishing and hot summers shrimping. From one boat Johnny and Lisa created an oyster empire. Starting in San Leon, TX he opened Johnnys Oyster and Shrimp with Lisa and his brother. In the late 2000s Johnny bought his brother out and changed the company name to Prestige Oysters. From San Leon, Johnny stretched into Louisiana and Florida. He developed 21 corporations, investing millions of dollars on private leases and boats and manages them all with wife Lisa. Johnny created an oyster company unlike any other. In the summer of 2010, Prestige Oysters installed the Quintus 350L HPP machine from Avure Technology to treat and shuck oysters. Recently the Cryo-Quick tunnel also known as IQF (Instant Quick Freeze) has been installed to freeze oysters. At present day, Prestige Oyster provides market for over 100 oyster boats and sells over 20 millions dollars worth of oysters every year.
