Detailed Information

Established in 1929, the Grey Moss Inn Restaurant has been serving Texas Hill Country traditions for over 75 years. Current owner Dr. Lou Baeten has continued these traditions by providing diners a unique blend of country charm, fabulous cuisine, and a romantic atmosphere, all just a short drive outside the city of San Antonio. The experience begins with the scenic drive into the small town of Grey Forest, and upon arrival to the Grey Moss Inn the attention to the details begin to overwhelm the senses. Colorful flowers dot the landscape around every corner of the restaurant. The main dining room and patio area is built under a canopy of huge Texas Oaks and in the evening the surrounding trees are filled with a spectrum of colored lights. Twinkling lights adorn the rustic stone walls and the roof tops, setting the mood for the perfect romantic celebration. The large green meadow just beyond the parking area is were wildlife such as whitetail deer and turkey can be seen daily enjoying the native wildflowers and grass. All this and you havent even gotten out of the car! Here at the Grey Moss Inn, we have gone to great lengths to continue the traditional menu of the past incorporating staple favorites like the olive twist, creamy twice baked potatoes, and homemade desserts that are created daily. Keeping the restaurant up with the times the Baetens enforce strict guidelines to low sodium, and only health smart oils are used in many of the menu dishes. Organic herbs are grown in the restaurant garden and are used when ever possible. The free range grilled chicken with no preservatives or hormones added and a vegetarian special are included to the menu for guilt free dining. Creative and delectable chef specials are served daily to challenge the customers to try something new. Most unique of all has to be the circular stone mesquite charcoal grill centered in the restaurant. Once it was the old draw bucket water well and since then it has been capped off and converted in
