Masraffs on Post Oak Lane is a casually elegant upscale restaurant owned and operated by a Houston family of restaurateurs, Tony Masraff and his son Russell. The restaurant has quickly become a local favorite with its unique Euro/American cuisine and ambiance. Best described as American cuisine with a touch of Southern Europe, the seafood, fowl, homemade pastas, lamb, beef and seasonal game will surely satisfy the most discriminating diner. Soon after opening, Masraffs received stellar early reviews, including the prestigious three-star rating from the Houston Chronicle Dining Guide, as well as being named among the ten new restaurants on the culinary cutting edge in the US by The Wall Street Journal. For a delightful culinary experience, dine at the Chefs Counter, where the Chef prepares a gourmet six -course dinner of his choosing. The Restaurant, with its Tuscan setting, seats over 200 for lunch and dinner. The Restaurant features a daily Afternoon Tea and a Sunday Jazz Brunch. Masraffs On Post Oak Lane offers a 50+ seat Vintage Room for private functions. The restaurant business was Tonys dream some 40 years ago, but fate led him into the High Technology field instead. He sold his high technology company and moved to his ranch in Hempstead. Russell, a native Houstonian and a graduate of Memorial High School and U of H Hilton School of Hotel & Restaurant Management, decided to stay in the restaurant business. It was not until Russell, after years of hands on restaurant experience under his belt, called one day in late 1996 and said, Dad, why dont we start a restaurant together? Thats all it took! Tony sold his ranch, and now calls the restaurant his ranch! This has become the ultimate dream of both a restaurant, and a father/son relationship. The father/son team is a hands on operation and no matter when you come, you will always meet a Masraff at the restaurant.
