The Fireside

Established in 1948, The Fireside is a northern Minnesota lakes area icon with house made, hand cut foods. An immense dose of style dominates a menu filled with classic, eclectic and inventive fare. Our stylish, chic and posh dining room is built around an open-airantique charcoal grill with a sensational view of Lake Detroit. Journey outdoors to our relaxing lake view deck featuring handcrafted cocktails, housemade appetizers and a hand built fire pit. Enjoy while waiting for your table or spend a warm summer evening soaking in the sunset. Cory Wolfe started his culinary career in 2010 as a prep cook. He soon discovered a passion for cooking and gained experienced at three restaurants over the next six years. Cory took a brief break from the kitchen, but quickly realized his heart was in the culinary field. In 2016, he started at The Fireside as a salad cook and worked his up the line to a sauté cook where he continually impressed the kitchen staff. Cory accepted the position of Executive Chef of The Fireside in September 2018. He is excited to put his own mark on the menu and dazzle our guests. When he is not creating house-made dishes for The Fireside, Cory enjoys spending time with his family, cooking, playing cards and watching his son grow.
