Our dreams include expanding our recreational opportunities, providing more classes and events, and improving our existing facilities. We have made many improvements to the Aquatics Center in the past years, and we hope to see some old regulars return. We want to hear from you about whatever may be on your mind regarding our programs and operations. We have tried to make thoughtful changes and upgrades to the Aquatic Center and the Recreation Department. Comments will be reviewed, and someone will get back to you if requested. Many people I meet in the community havent returned to the pool since the locker rooms or private pools were remodeled. If you are part of that group, please come back – we miss you. The locker rooms and pools look fabulous, and the staff is doing a great job of maintaining them. Over the years, the Salida Recreation Department has developed many valued community partners including Go-To Guide, LiveWell Chaffee County, The Mountain Mail, Ploughboy Market, the Boys and Girls Club, Salida Regional Library, Salida Mountain Trails, Salida Parks, Trails, and Open Space (SPOT), Arkansas Headwaters Recreation Area, Wilderness Expeditions, Monarch Ski Area and others. We could not provide many popular programs without these exceptional partners. We thank them for their years of assistance and participation.
