Courthouse Pub

Established in 2001. Join us at the Courthouse Pub – where great food is just the beginning! The Courthouse Pub is Manitowocs only microbrewery and we have also received the Wine Spectator Magazine award for our wine list every year since 2002.Our menu changes seasonally, offering a variety on unique entrees as well as typical Midwest favorites, including chicken, pastas, steak, pork and a variety of fish — often flown in fresh.We also have a Gluten-free menu, some vegetarian items, as well as a Childrens Menu.We offer fine dining in a comfortable Pub atmosphere, with seating in both our Pub bar area as well as Jonathans (our large dining room) and the Judges Chambers (our smaller dining room).The Judges Chambers is also available for private parties or meetings. It is fully equipped with internet connections.The Pub also offers full service catering — parties from 2 to 600 people. We are experienced in a wide variety of parties, meetings and celebrations of all kinds. During Prohibition, F. Willingers Beer Hall became known as the Court Café. At about this same time, the owners constructed an addition to the south of the original building, giving it the L shaped appearance so popular in Greek Revival frame buildings and creating the footprint that remains today. Note the Rahr Malting Company in the background of this photo — known during Prohibition as the Cereal Products Company. In the late 1930s, the Pekel family purchased the Court Café and renamed it Pekels Colonial Inn. W. M. Willinger (assumed to be a relative of the original owners) located his insurance and investment firm above the restaurant. By this time, the white clapboard exterior had been covered with asphalt shingles. This undated picture of the interior of the Colonial Inn provides a glimpse of the restaurants early appearance. Even though each owner has made changes to the building, much of the interior look and feel of the Pekels Colonial Inn remains.
