A new upscale gastropub in Studio City that boasts a reinvented and modern take on classic fare within a relaxed and urban setting. Fine wines, local craft beer, and specialty cocktails are paired alongside fresh, sustainable ingredients, featured in the eclectic menu by accomplished Executive Chef Emilio Ortiz. The Grays urban industrial design is carefully curated throughout the interior and exterior patio for a casual dining experience that compliments the canopy of flavors found in every dish. Originating from Mexico City, where all the rich & diverse flavors of México converge, Chef Emilios foundation is in traditional Mexican cuisine. His passion and understanding of the kitchen as an art is informed by his beloved matriarchs, namely his mother, his aunts, and his grandmother. Once in Los Angeles, he earned his culinary arts training from LA Trade Tech and boasts more than 25 years of running kitchens at various restaurants such as La Golondrina Cafe, Adoro Mexican Grill, 10E Mediterranean Restaurant, among many others, and now Gray Tavern. While his specialty is Mexican cuisine, his kitchen skills and experience also encompasses Italian, French, American, and Middle Eastern cuisine. As executive chef, Emilio maximizes ingredients in order to deliver affordable, health-conscious food to all his customers.
