Within a beautiful 1910 red-brick church building, in the middle of Historic Brunswick Maryland, can be found Beans in the Belfry. Enjoy a fresh coffee, the company of friends and the sounds of live music surrounded by the beautiful stained glass windows, relax outfront with a cold drink before antiquing through downtown or taking a walk on the C&O Canal Towpath. Enjoy one of our many popular dishes for lunch as you work at your computer using free Wi-Fi, or bring your children to enjoy creative play in the kids corner. Even rent the Cafe for a private dinner, birthday party, shower or meeting. The possibilities are endless! One of the most popular meeting places and the center of entertainment for the area for the past several years, Beans offers something for everyone. soloists or acoustic bands play to the applause of an enthusiastic audience. The repertory includes blues, popular 50s, 60s, folk, bluegrass, Irish, Celtic and originals. Several times a month local musicians meet for Celtic or Irish jams, Old-time jams, and beginning in March 2013 also Bluegrass jams which are as much fun to the musicians as the audience. A local bluegrass band performs Thursday evenings except for third Thursday when we have OPEN MIC which provides new and accomplished performers a forum to share, to get and give support. On Sundays, some of the finest jazz performers of the area play jazz standards, jazz fusion and bebop jazz while we serve a delicious four-course brunch from a special Brunch menu. Our Church Building on 122 West Potomac Street was constructed as the Brunswick Reformed Church in 1910, and served as a church until December of 1968. Today, the red brick structure has retained most of its original appearance and the original stained glass windows.
