Established in 2012. Aachi Appakadai serves Aappam with various Chettinad spicy dishes like Goat Paaya, chicken curry etc to name a few. With an excellent blend of traditional recipes and innovation, the Chefs of Aappakadai are striving to fulfill the appetite of the chettinad food lovers. Aachi Aappakadai was started with the thought of introducing the taste and flavors of Aappam to Northern California, United States. Aachi Appakadai was started with a small team of experienced chefs who are passionate about South Indian Chettinad Food. The name Aachi means Grandmother. As the name suggests, the recipes of Aachi Appakadai come from the spice racks of the Grandmother. Traditionally fresh and hot home-made Aappam were sold by Aachis as a breakfast dish in the streets of Chettinad. Aappam is a specialty dish from the Chettinad, made of fermented rice flour.
