Chef Aurel Prodan attended culinary school in Romania for the studies of Hotel and Restaurant Management. Aurel and his wife, Doina, spent their early years as a Chef and waiter in a local Romanian restaurant. In 1981, they moved to Bavaria, Germany where he continued his career as a Chef. In 1990, they moved to Baden-Wuerttemberg (Schwabenland) where Chef Aurel became a renowned Master Chef. Today Master Chef Aurel Prodan and Doina live in the beautiful alpine village of Helen, Georgia. They are the owners of Bodensee Restaurant. They are bring Old World Germany to Georgias famous alpine village. Lake Constance (German: Bodensee) is a lake on the Rhine at the northern foot of the Alps, and consists of three bodies of water: the Obersee (upper lake), the Untersee (lower lake), and a connecting stretch of the Rhine, called the Seerhein. Lake Constance was first mentioned by the Roman geographer Pomponius Mela about 43AD. He noted that the Rhine flows through two lakes, and gave them the Latin names Lacus Venetus and Lacus Acronius. Pliny the Elder used the name Lacus Brigantinus, after the Roman city of Brigantium. The lake is also colloquially known as the Swabian Sea.
