The story of The Seafood Lady can be summed up in 3 words: food, family, and faith. It was the family of Nichelle Thurston that inspired her to bring her Florida-Style Seafood platters to her transplanted home of Kentucky. When she craved those steamy plates of crab, lobster, crawfish, and veggies, there was nowhere in Kentucky where she could indulge. So, alongside her husband and business partner, Shawn, Nichelle began selling plates and promoting them via social media. The response was immediate and overwhelming. This led The Thurstons to purchase a Food Truck that allowed them to travel around Louisville, but also to other states to serve their growing fan base. Fast forward to 2018, and the growth of The Seafood Lady movement has been nothing short of miraculous. The restaurant eventually moved in a small location Oak Street, where a tire shop once stood. People from the entire Midwest traveled to experience the incredible food being served from their spot, garage door and all. While operating from their first location, The Seafood Lady was featuring on The Food Networks Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives; receiving high praise from Chef Guy Fieri. This exposure fueled an already blazing fire of support that led The Seafood Lady to move into a new, larger location nearby in the Old Louisville neighborhood. Today, The Seafood Lady continues to wow customers and has expanded to 2 Louisville area locations. Through strong values, close relationships, and amazing food, The Seafood Lady is sure to continue to grow in the years to come.
