Hansa Import Haus has been a trademark of the greater Cleveland area for the past 51 years.Founding father Fritz Dengel opened the doors of Hansa back in 1957 when it was located across the street from its present day location of West 28th and Lorain. n 1980, the business was bought by present day owner Boris Music, native of Slovenija. oris decided to move the business across the street to its current location in 1982, so he could expand the business and offer a wider variety of products. Walking into Hansa gives customers the sense that they are entering an authentic German store. nstantly customers are greeted with Old World murals decorating the walls, European music playing throughout the store, and smells of their favorite lunchmeats and cheeses.Customers from Germany, Hungary, and many other countries come weekly to Hansa to purchase their favorite homeland treats they cant find anywhere else.Weekly, Hansa gets fresh bread delivered to the store by the Dimpflmeier Bakery in Toronto, Canada and Reineckers Bakery in Macedonia, Ohio.Today, Hansa is known to have one of the largest imported beer selections. f customers are truly homesick from the sights of their favorite foods, they can walk over to the in store travel agency to purchase a ticket to return home.Just down the street from the West Side Market, we aim to please our customers with our wide variety of food from all over the world.
