Slammers

Since 1993, Slammers has served Columbus as a much loved hangout, bar, and eatery to not only the areas LGBTQIA+ community, but all the downtown neighborhoods… not to mention those that drive into downtown from the suburbs. Over the years, people have met theirpartners here, friends have gathered here. Weve laughed together, sang together, danced together, and cried together. From mourning 9/11, to celebrating the bitter sweet Supreme Court decision to legalize same-sex marriage across the United States. Weve been there for all of it. Twenty seven years after opening,weve dealt with a lot this year. We had to close the bar due to COVID-19. The week we had planned to open, the bar was vandalized during the protests . This has delayed our reopening. Slammers has ALWAYS been an inclusive, safe, and supportive place for members of the LGBTQIA+ community and our allies. walls were built with Love, have grown stronger because of Love and we will not allow hate to tear us down. Through out the years, we have stood firmly behind our slogan: All Walks, One Groove, and we mean it. Everyone is welcome in this place. Everyone has a home in Slammers, no matter their sex, race, orientation, ethnicity, etc. We support our friends who are people of color and will continue to do our part and provide a safe place for all. We also have a GoFundMe to help with expenses weve incurred as a result of the vandalism. We appreciate your continued support during this time.
