The Flytrap restaurant is one of the oldest restaurants in San Francisco dating back to the late 1800s. We are located in the South of Market district just a few blocks away from the Moscone center and the Modern Museum of Art. We got our name over a hundred yearsago because the owner back in the day would put samples of food on display covering it with flytraps because of the horses and carriages that roamed the streets at the turn of the century. The locals started calling it the flytrap restaurant. Over 135 years later here we are. Come in and help support a little of San Franciscos legacy.
