Owner and chef Franco Zitoli learned from hisparents and grandfather who owned a trattoria in Italy and combines old-world Italian recipes with innovative contemporary trends. Francos son Victor, a CIA graduate, is the fourth generation in this family business, proudly celebrating 35 years. Pastas, sauces, breads, and desserts are all homemade, and house specialties include seasonal fish caught by local fishermen. They use organic fruits and vegetables from Long Island farms, free range chicken, and high quality organic meats. Franina features an extensive international wine list with 300 labels and a 14,000 bottle inventory in their wine cellar.
