Detailed Information

For the Plumed Horse, FORMA aimed to create an elegant, sophisticated interior that would honor the restaurants impeccable service and showcase their world-renowned wine list. To this end, the heart of the Plumed Horse became the glass wine cellar. Situated between the main dining room and lounge, the cellar ascends the entire height of the dining area and descends one floor below. Patrons are able to steal a glimpse of the Plumed Horses extensive wine collection while walking past this glass-floored cellar. The grand dining room is layered in rich materials. In this space a subtle gold Venetian plastered ceiling lies above floated sycamore wood panels. These curved, honey colored panels contrast with the warm sepeli wood walls. Their shape lends an organic feel to the space. Seated in the dining room eyes are lured upward toward the ethereal chandeliers. These free-formed light fixtures are composed entirely of fiber optic strands. Their delicate presence lends a feeling of opulence. Large leather bound mirrors line the length of the dining area and add depth to the space. The windows are covered in lush clove colored silk sheers. The curved ceiling panels, one of the main design elements, carry over into the lounge where an intimate setting invites guests to enjoy a glass of wine at the bar. The bar is fronted by pieces of natural onyx, backlit to cast a soft glow. Guests can also choose to gather with friends for a bite to eat in front of the modern fireplace, or unwind in one of the oversized leather armchairs. In this room the platinum Venetian plastered ceiling offsets chocolate and royal blue furnishings. The lounge displays paintings by famed artist Makoto Fujimura, whose artwork was inspired by the restaurants new design and incorporates its color palate of platinum, gold and other mineral pigments.
